LOHAS Energy Conservation House is a project supported by the Energy Administration, built by the Industrial Technology Research Institute, and integrated with the educational philosophy of the NSTM. It was awarded as the domestic Gold-level Green Building in 2008, showcasing the “energy-saving demonstration house” in the climate of southern Taiwan. It allows the public to visit and experience energy conservation education, making it a venue for family-friendly energy-saving and carbon reduction education.
The LOHAS Energy Conservation House’s design is based on the ”LOHAS living.” It is an exhibition of residential designs with features like architectural design, exterior insulation, clean energy, high-efficiency installation, and water resource utilization, achieving an energy savings of up to 70%. The exhibition is divided into three main themes:
- Energy-saving Living Area: Energy-saving spokesperson Ah-Kuang guides us to learn about various energy-saving methods in daily life, helping us save electricity and money.
- Building Shell Energy-saving Area: It demonstrates what an energy-saving house is like, how its structure differs and what building materials can be used to construct a smart energy-saving house.
- Clean Energy Area: Through various teaching aids and models, it showcases the styles and applications of clean energy to reduce environmental pollution and the greenhouse effect.
Through the physical display of an energy-saving house, combined with diverse exhibition methods, visitors can easily learn about energy-saving and low-carbon living.
This exhibition hall is suitable for all audiences interested in home energy conservation and environmental education. Visiting groups are welcome to book guided tours; individual visitors can freely experience and visit the energy-saving facilities within the exhibition hall.
