Many sugar factory employees get married while working in the sugar factory, and they will set up tables in the welfare restaurant to and invite guests over. The welfare restaurant has a total of three floors. The second floor and above are used as dormitories for tolerance. That is, people from sugar factories or public institutions in Taiwan who come to Hualien Sugar Factory to contact the company can apply for dormitories for tolerance. There used to be a presidential suite on the second floor, and the late former President Lee Teng-hui also lived here.
