The Hualien Sugar Factory Guest House was built in 1936 (Showa 11). It was formerly known as the Club or Wufan during the Japanese Occupation. It has small meeting rooms, suites, chess games, and reception rooms.
After the war, the guest house was used as a dormitory for singles, a dormitory for tolerance personnel, and a warehouse. Due to the demand for use, several additional construction projects were carried out in the 1950s to 1970s. Powerful celebrities such as Jiang Jingguo, Yan Jiagan, Wu Guozhen, He Yingqin, Bai Chongxi, Li Shizeng and other party veterans once stayed here. The two elders, Ju Zheng and Li Chaozai, also stayed here and gifted them to the Hualien Sugar Factory with calligraphy. They are now hung in the presidential suite of the RC guest house that has been converted into a guest house in the factory.
Hualien Sugar Factory Guest House, the building adopts the "ㄈ" shape, and because Taiwan is in a humid environment, the high-foot abutment is used to make the building well ventilated, and large-area glass windows are used to provide good indoor lighting. The entrance porch of the building is designed in a streamlined style; the roof of the building is designed in the form of a thousand birds and wind. The interior is quite Japanese-style. The atrium on the left rear of the building also has a rockery pool and other landscapes. It is a very rare large-scale guest house in Hualien. Style building. It has now been listed as a historic site in Hualien County (city).
