The ethanol factory was added to the Shou factory in 1919 to manage the molasses that are dispatched from Dahe factory and Shou factory. After world war II, only Date factory was repaired and was discarded due to its severe damage and its output was lower than Dahe factory. HuaLien sugar factory needs a lot of building material resources, therefore the Shou factory was discarded and transformed into the new HuaLien sugar factory. Its ethanol production equipments are transited to HuaLien sugar factory around 1955 (The 44th year of the Republic Era)
