The sugar refinery was added and built in 1989 due to the change of the market, in order to refine 特砂. The refinery can produce 300 tonnes of superior granulated sugar each day, however, it was shut down in 2002 and transitioned into a sight seeing sugar factory due to the low market price of the sugar and the high price of sugar production.
