The blockhouse was built in 1957 as reinforced concrete building. Hualien Sugar factory is nation’s important industrial facility and thus need to be equipped with access control and patrol unit to protect its important assets. The existing guard’s room, the second sentry, watch house, and the blockhouse etc are all important relics.
