Walay Studio was originally a sentry in the sugar factory and was renovated by early August of 2018, becoming a characteristic entrance image at Entrance 3 of Taitung Sugar Factory Cultural and Creative Park.
“Walay” means “line” in the Beinan language. Walay and her husband like to mix all sorts of primitive and natural lines in different sizes by weaving them into unique and living works with ram horns.
Walay said, “I’ll pick up those being abandoned first before deciding what to do with them.” She would pick up fallen fruits and give them new life by introducing them into her creation, making them beautiful handmade art works.
