“Ata” means “beads with beautiful patterns” in the Paiwan language. Ata Studio is run by a representing enterprise in the park. It was led by Paiwan teacher Lin Hsui-hui along with Rukai, Paiwan, Beinan, and Amis women. Many handmade art crafts with aboriginal features are displayed in the studio. It also provides a DIY experience in making Paiwan glass beads. Lin Hsui-hui said, “Ata Aboriginal Cultural Craft Studio started off with Paiwan beads and has dedicated itself to preserving totems and the meaning of the tribe.”Lin hopes that she could train more practitioners so that they can pass on the totem culture of glass beads and produce merchandise with market competitiveness.
