Shanhua Sugar Factory is located at Shanhua District, Tainan City. It was originally named “Wanli Sugar Factory” and was renamed in 1961. It is now one of only two sugar factories, the other one being Huwei Sugar Factory of Yunlin County, that still manufactures sugar in Taiwan.
It mainly produces light brown sugar. Initially, it could squeeze 180 tons of sugar cane per day. After years of expansion, it could now squeeze 2,900 tons per day and the squeezing room has 2 manufacturing lines.
