Located at the northern part of Suantou Sugar Factory, Heyuan Park was made by imitating the Japanese style garden. With elegant scenery, facilities such as a gazebo and a lotus pond are available. Old trees such as the century-old banyan tree, paper flower, long-leaved podocarps, and camphor are planted here.
The director’s dormitory and Japanese style dormitories at the western side of Heyuan Park were executive dormitories built during the Meiji Era. They are still well-preserved and the best location for visitors and newlyweds taking pictures. The ruin of the old shrine in the northeastern side of the park enshrines Dr. Sun Yat-sen and is the only one such in Taiwan.
